Five Falcons Add Christopher Newport Offer

RICHMOND, Va. – Huguenot’s senior class added another wave of college opportunities Thursday night, as five Falcons received scholarship offers from Christopher Newport University following practice on August 6.

Linebacker Chris Green, OL/DL Benjamin Thompson, OL/DL Romel Bradley, center Andrew Gary Jr., and running back Randal Robinson Jr. were all offered by Christopher Newport offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Craig Smith, who handles recruiting in the Richmond area.

The offers came by phone after Huguenot’s Thursday practice and represented different milestones for each player.

For Green, the CNU offer is the third of his recruitment. He also holds offers from Rhode Island, an FCS program, and Roanoke College.

For Robinson, the offer is his second. His first came from Hampden-Sydney College.

The night carried even more significance for Gary, Bradley and Thompson, who each received the first college offer of their careers.

That made the moment especially meaningful for Huguenot’s offensive line room. Gary returns as the Falcons’ starting center, while Thompson and Bradley are both veteran two-way linemen who have been important parts of the program’s development.

Thompson is expected to spend the majority of his time on the offensive line this season, while Bradley continues to contribute on both sides of the ball.

All five players are seniors entering their final season at Huguenot.

The group represents several different areas of the roster. Green is part of a veteran linebacker unit, Robinson leads a deep running back room, and Gary, Bradley and Thompson provide experience and leadership up front.

The five offers also continue a growing trend of college programs evaluating Huguenot’s senior class as the 2026 season approaches.

For Gary, Bradley and Thompson, Thursday night marked the beginning of their college recruitment.

For Green and Robinson, it added another opportunity to a list that is continuing to grow.

And for Huguenot, five offers in one night served as another sign that the work being done throughout the program is being noticed beyond South Richmond.
